Well, hello there! Thanks for joining me on my page. This is first crack at a blog post... so here we go!
Lately, I have been amazed with how many of my friends, family members, peers, and co-workers have become entrepreneurs. Starting your own business is hard (trust me, I've had my fair share of issues), and I am SO happy to see local businesses thriving.
One wonderful woman, who is a total boss babe, is my friend Anna. Anna and I have known each other since elementary school, and even 10 years later I can still remember how blown away I was with her artistic skills. Now, many years later, here I sit writing about not one, but TWO, businesses this girl has started!
Nearing the end of her undergraduate degree at Queen's University, Anna started "Lettering by Rose", a hand-lettering business that includes custom artistic creations using brush painting, embossing, watercolour, and digital hand lettering. Her talents quickly took notice throughout the area, and many other local businesses now have her pieces hanging on their walls. Her unique custom touch to each piece is refreshing, and makes each project personalized and special. As someone with little artistic ability (I can BARELY draw stick people), I am in awe of her work.
Two projects Anna created for me. Check out more of her work HERE
Not too long ago, Anna started her SECOND business, the Autumn Rose Project. Creating her own personalized design, Anna dropped her "Go Out Side" clothing line, debuting a embroidered t-shirt, beanie, sweatshirt, and phone case. Her clothing line is influenced by a love for the outdoors and exploring, reflecting her own passions and values.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to shoot images for her new line. With her school friends as models, we shot at a local coffee shop, "The Brake Room", and then took the fun outside. It was cold, and there were a few moments I thought someone was going to fall in a river, but in the end we were able to capture her beautiful work. Please enjoy more pictures below, and don't forget to get outside!
